DIY Project- Branch Hanger

I looove DIY projects. Filling your space with hits of things you have made is always a great way to make your house feel like a home, rather then a showroom, and the pride you feel when someone asks, “Where did you get that from?” and you get to say, “I made it!” is pretty special.

While reading the latest Inside Out Magazine, I came across this fabulous DIY project that I need to do right away! And I think you should too, this would look great in rooms that don’t have wardrobes, or even in a hallway to hold coats, umbrellas and scarves.

Have a great weekend peeps and write again soon!

How to…

1. Clean

Remove any nubs or smaller branches from your branch with a hacksaw. Lightly sand branch until entire surface is completely smooth.

2. Whitewash

Make whitewash by mixing one part paint with one part water. Dip your rag in the watered down paint and rub into to the entire branch with long strokes.

3. Seal

Leave to dry thoroughly before applying a thin coat of sealer with a brush and leave to dry again.

4. Hang!

Attach ceiling hooks approx 1mtr apart and attach jute lengths. Secure jute onto branch approx 25cm from each end using a buntline hitch knot.

Tip: Make more of a statement by mixing a coloured paint wash and cover the tip of your branch.

Thank you to Inside Out Magazine for this awesome DIY!
